#29 Don't rob us of the joy of receiving your gifts
Grant us the opportunity to share ours.
Let’s begin with a powerful parable:
There was a monk wandering through the desert with a backpack full of water bottles.
As he proceeded he came across many people desperately thirsty, some even near death.
They begged him for water, but he refused.
He said: "Sorry, my self-esteem is too low, I don't feel worthy enough to offer you what I have."
That last line can be replaced by an endless stream of reasons (excuses) to hold yourself back from sharing your gifts. The one thing common in all those excuses — they are all about you.
Giving is not about you.
Too many people hold back their gifts because they focus on themselves instead of focusing on helping others.
Feel like an impostor?
Feel unworthy?
Feel ashamed of your voice or your appearance?
Feel like you will be perceived as self-important and egoistic?
Well, guess what? Those who want and need your help, DO NOT CARE.
I spent a lot of time hiding in the background, I denied the world of all the gifts and wisdom I had developed on my journey. It took me years to overcome my shame. And even when I managed to put something out, I instantly self-rejected based on projections of what others might perceive.
But I did it anyway.
And I kept doing it.
Till the day I started receiving feedback that my content was helping people deeply.
It helped them move through blocks of shame, guilt, and fear.
It helped people un-cancel themselves from the silent rules of culture.
My content was helping people find liberation and peace.
My content is me. I was helping people.
I had been hiding behind projections arising from my own shame, denying others the opportunity to heal and grow.
I stopped doing that when I realized that it's not about me, it's not about how I look and sound. People are benefiting anyway. People want more anyway.
Eventually the shame just faded as I kept glowing more.
Today I fully embrace my gifts and share them with the world.
Which is why #29 on my Manifestation Manifesto states:
I am here to help, teach, lead, and share my gifts with the world.
I thought I was an unpleasant presence and it was better to hide myself.
I tried pleasing others by holding back my light.
I thought I was overwhelming others.
Now I happily share myself, my gifts, and my knowledge.
My latest podcast episode is exactly on this topic: Share Your Joy Unapologetically — Celebrate Your Light!
Instead of hiding, now I regularly create content on Substack, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
I also started a new podcast called One Deep Step with the specific intention of sharing wisdom and insights gained from my personal experience of deep transformation over the last 9 years.
What are you holding back? Share your thoughts and insights in the comments.
