Writing a Personal Manifesto
A powerful exercise to identify limits and codify your path to the next level of your Self and your Life.
I have been writing my personal manifesto over the last 2 weeks.
I had a lot of resistance doing this few months back but it turned out I was just fighting myself and the ghosts in my mind.
I call it a manifestation manifesto, even though I disliked these two words just moments before I started the process.
I reclaimed these words to empower me.
First, what is manifestation?
Manifestation is the process of envisioning the future and materializing it into reality.
Second, what is a manifesto?
A manifesto, as it relates to a person, is codifying your beliefs, values, and desires. Essentially a list describing:
Who you are
Who you want to become
What you want to create
The Resistance
I don’t let any person or group own a word
nor define what it means or feels for me
I used to have a strong resistance to these concepts, which in hindsight was for silly reasons.
Manifestation was a word used by a lot of new-age spiritual people. That made me dislike the word. But I don’t let any person or group own a word or define what it means or feels for me. I reclaimed ownership of this word and defined it in a way that feels powerful and helpful for me.
A manifesto talks about definition, it is codifying yourself into a container. That was my worst nightmare. I used to be very rebellious and hated the idea of boxes. I always wanted to break free from all limits and all concepts that related to limits. Definition meant limits. I also reclaimed ownership of my definition of definition.
Definitions are flexible
My definition of definition now allows expansion and growth.
As long as I am defining something, I have the power to keep changing that definition. I have the power to redefine anything that feels it is confining me. So today I can create definitions and codify my present and my vision for the future, knowing that I have the freedom and flexibility to upgrade and evolve this definition at any time.
The Manifesto
I have written a 33 point manifesto of who I am, the next level of who I want to become, and what I am creating.
I am excited to wake up and be this person each day and work towards becoming the next version of myself. I am proud to share myself and what I am creating with you and the world.
In the following 33 posts I will be sharing one point of my manifesto each time and explaining where it comes from and what it means to me, with the hope that it inspires you to become an evolved and empowered version of yourself.
Get started by reading #33 I am in this for the long-haul.
Do you have a manifestation manifesto? Is there anything you are proud to share with me and the world? I look forward to reading it in the comments.
